At Peace

I welcome my old friend silence

To calm the noise of my mind

A welcome visitor to give me respite

From all that troubles me

Ego bows in humility to silence

Awakening the sentience of heart 

Compassion for my persecutor

is my lesson

Healing and calming my mental storm

Silence bids me to become silent

Within this moment of clarity

All that matters is silence

As in all moments

Peace is a natural state of being
